My WIP has a query . . . already.

I don't know about you guys, but I can not concentrate on my WIP until I have a query. Yes, I am that anal.

So a very cool, and may I add, very helpful blogger over at Disgruntled Bear is offering a query contest that can earn you a 30 page MS critique.

Check it out here

She is also an awesome writer.

Check out her works: Minder

You have until Sunday night to enter her contest. So swing on over, check out my query, check out the others, and get yourself a free critique. The feedback is priceless.

  1. I think writing a query first is a great way to make sure your story is solid. If it can't be summarized in query form, there's something wrong!

  2. Very true, A.J. I find that is also true with the dreaded synopsis.

  3. I'm the same way! I have to write the query first, or at least the bare bones of it. It gets way harder after the thing is written with all its subplots and character arcs. How do I choose which ones are the most important to include? It's like asking a mother to choose between her children! Okay, not that bad, but it's hard. So, I'm totally with you.

Looks like I missed the contest (always sad) but I'm following you now so that shouldn't happen again. :)
