The Offician Obsidian Trailer

Guys, I am so excited to share the official Obsidian trailer with you! It went live on USA Today's blog at 11:00am today. You can also view it there and leave comments. On July 13th, USA Today will also be debuting the Behind the Scenes footage that includes interviews and sneak peeks at the upcoming Onyx and Opal trailers.

The Onyx trailer will debut roughly around August 1st. Location announced later and the Opal trailer will be making its appearance around November 19th.

The Obsidian trailer, in all its hotness, is also included below for your viewing pleasure.

But before I get started, I wanted to talk a little about how the #daemoninvasion tour went and everything that went into making it happen. I promise this will be short and sweet and then you can ogle Daemon and Katy in the trailer.

What most people don't know was that I was actually pretty exhausted and sick on the tour. Heck, most people ON the tour didn't know.  I went straight from BEA in NYC to Atlanta, GA. If anyone has ever been to BEA, you know how crazy fun that is, but you need like a mini vacation afterward to recoup. I really didn't have that downtime. Neither did Liz Pelletier (Entangled). But from the moment we arrived in Atlanta, there was no break for sleep or to be sick. I had no idea how I was going to make it through hours and hours of photo shoots, filming, books signings, long arse car drives without going to sleep or vomiting on the back of someone's head, which most unfortunately would have been Pepe's head and that would be, like, sacrilegious.

That's where Vania from VLC Photo Productions and those who assisted her came into play. First, let me talk about Jeffery and Jeremy West, Lauren, and Stacey. Without these uber talented folks (you may recognize two names there), the filming would not have been a success.  There's no way. They worked on lightning, special effects, organization of
costumes, scene changes, hours of trying to make Pepe glow and flicker (AND WE DID IT!) and set changes. We had a very short period of time to film 3 book trailers. And even though the scenes don't look very long when they're edited, they take about ten tries and some times more to get them right.

I pretty much stood around and did nothing. Well, I did reenact the table scene for Onyx with Vania so Pepe and Sztella knew what we were talking about.  Thank God that didn't get caught on camera.

There were times when I didn't even know which scene was from which book. Sad but true. Thank God Stacey was there, because she knew the books better than I did.

That's the kind of support you get when you partner up with VLC Photo Productions. So a huge, I can never stress how thankful I am, thank you to Jeremy and Jeffery West, Lauren and Stacey.

Back to the whole arriving in Atlanta on the 7th. I had all this swag to put together for the signing the next day at Foxtale, but didn't have bags, candies, or really anything other than swag. That's where Vania came into play. Even though we had a photo shoot scheduled at buttcrack dawn, Vania went to the Wal-Mart with me at midnight and we got everything we needed. And then we stayed up until about 3am, pretty everything together while indulging in a bit of Hungarian liquor and battling flying cockroaches.  Not only is Vania talented when it comes to filming trailers, she was also a true asset at the book signings. Setting livestream (along with the West boys), helping Liz and me with getting everything organized, getting pictures of the signings (which is something every author needs at a big event), handing out books, keeping the social media aspect of it running while on tour, and doing everything to keep the whole thing stress free for me. Considering how I was feeling, I can't tell you how much that meant. And the fact that everywhere we went there were flying cockroaches.

Before the actual tour, Vania helped set up and run the #daemoninvasion street team. Created tasks and along with Stacey, helped monitor the group. She also worked the marketing side of the tour along with Entangled and ran several sites (and still is) for the tour and trailers.

So what does all of this have to do with anything? It's all about giving praise where praise is due.

And authors who read my blog: if you're looking for someone to market your book, to do a trailer, or to do both, VLC Photo Productions is who you want to contact.  Not only will you see actual sales impact, you will get a kick ass marketing plan and trailer if that's what you're looking for.

So, yeah, there you have it. Wasn't so short, but there is a lot that goes into making something like this happen: money, blood, sweat, hot models, and tears.

And last but not least, a huge thank you to Pepe and Sztella for taking part in the trailers and signings. It's so cool to see them on the cover and in the trailers. Not to mention, they are two of the coolest people in the world.

Without further adieu, here is the Official Obsidian Trailer.
